Auxiliary relays shown on the schematic diagrams are required to provide additional auxiliary contacts for miscellaneous controls and interlocking with other apparatus. 4 – 39 Spec. : 0-824-E208 Rev. 1 SECTION 4 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.06 MATERIALS AND FABRICATION (CONT.) b2. These relays shall be of the front connected, machine tool type for installation in the individual MCC combination starter compartments or auxiliary relay compartments as shown on the drawings. b3. The auxiliary relays shall be suitable for 120 volt, 60-Hertz ac operation. Contact rating shall be 10 amperes, 240 volts ac minimum. b4. All auxiliary relay contacts shall be the field convertible type. If not

field convertible type, additional auxiliary relays shall be supplied to provide sufficient contacts as shown on the schematic diagrams without enlarging the unit compartments. b5. Auxiliary relay contacts shall be internally wired in parallel with other contacts in the same motor control center as shown on the schematic diagrams. c. Time delay relays c1. Time delay relays shall be of the pneumatic dash pot type as manufactured by Agastat, Series 7000 or acceptable equal. c2. The relays shall have a dial head adjustment with characteristics and contact arrangement as specified in the schematic diagrams. d. Latching/Alternating relays d1. The latching/alternating relays shown on schematic diagrams shall be front connected machine tool type and shall be mounted in the individual MCC combination starter compartments. d2. The latching/alternating relays shall be a mechanically held type suitable for continuous operation at 120 volts 60 Hz. One of the two relay coils shall have the capability to act as a master for preventing contact oscillation when a simultaneous energization of both coils occur. d3. Contact ratings shall be 10 amps, 240 volts ac minimum. All such latching relays to be supplied must be approved by the Buyer. e. Indicating lights 4 – 40 Spec. : 0-824-E208 Rev. 1 SECTION 4 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.06 MATERIALS AND FABRICATION (CONT.) e1. Red-green indicating lights shall be provided for each feeder unit as

of distribution panel for motor space heater control. 11. Space Heaters a. Thermostatically-controlled space heaters shall be provided in quantity and capacities necessary to maintain the temperature inside each motor control center above any anticipated dew point temperature for the conditions of operation specified herein. b. The heaters shall be rated for 240V ac and shall be connected to operate at 120V ac. Heaters shall be wired to terminal blocks and be readily accessible for inspection, maintenance, and removal. Fabricated barriers shall be provided around each heater to prevent contact by personnel. 4 – 42 Spec. : 0-824-E208 Rev. 1 SECTION 4 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.06 MATERIALS AND FABRICATION (CONT.)

12. Potential Transformers a. All potential transformer shall be grounded directly to the ground bus. b. The transformer shall have ANSI 0.6W, X, Y accuracy. The voltage ratings are shown on the single line diagrams. c. Potential transformer high voltage windings shall be protected by current limiting fuses. Potential transformers and current limiting fuses shall be completely disconnected and visibly grounded when in position for inspection. d. Fuses sized to prevent harmful overload to the PT's shall be installed in all ungrounded phase of the low voltage circuit and shall be located to permit replacement while the motor control center is energized. Fuse holders shall be permanently labeled as to size and type fuse required.

17. Receptacle One 120V ac receptacle shall be provided for each MCC. 4 – 45 Spec. : 0-824-E208 Rev. 1 SECTION 4 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.06 MATERIALS AND FABRICATION (CONT.) Table 4.B3.1 480V Motor Control Center Cable Entrance

C. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS 1. The following materials shall not be used in harsh environments a. Teflon (PTFE) b. Organic paints 2. The Supplier shall determine the number of vertical sections required based on an economical assembly. The single line diagrams showing the arrangements, breaker trip rating, service, load rating, etc., will be issued after award of contract. D. Materials The use of asbestos in the manufacture of any component purchased under this specification shall be prohibited. E. Welding The Supplier shall prepare general welding procedure in accordance with the requirements of KEPIC SWT, structural welding code-sheet steel. Welding procedure shall contain all related information including welding process, preheat, postweld heat-treatment, etc.. This procedure shall be submitted to the Buyer for review in accordance with Appendix 4D. The Supplier shall provide Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) prepared in accordance with the applicable code. 4 – 46 Spec. : 0-824-E208 Rev. 1 SECTION 4 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.07 INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL REQUIREMENTS A.
